Week 5 (Arkansas State 19 - Mizzou 41)

As shown earlier in the week, Mizzou went with the classic black/black/black combo they have been wearing for years. It's my second favorite look of theirs, barely getting beat by the black/black/yellow combo. Check out the pictures below.

Back in Black

Pretty uneventful on the uniform side this weekend as Mizzou will be wearing their standard black/black/black home combination they wore in Week 1. I was really hoping for the gold jerseys, or possibly the matte black and gold "Super Tiger" helmet, but we'll most likely see those in Week 8 against Florida for the annual Gold Rush game. Check back this weekend for the game day pictures.

Week 4 (Mizzou 45 - Indiana 28)

Here we got our first on field look at the matte black/silver helmets unveiled last week. As a standalone helmet, I'm fine with it. But as I previously said, it just doesn't fit Mizzou. There's no way that this helmet would look good with any other jersey, so I'm glad they wore it with their away whites. Indiana wore their chrome candy stripe helmets for the second time this season as well. Picture below.

Black and...Silver?

Well, as expected Mizzou debuted their third helmet option last night. Also, as expected it is matte black with silver details including the facemask and "Super Tiger" logo.

Initial reaction is pretty...meh. The helmet itself looks alright, and it'll definitely help draw the attention of recruits (because that's the whole reason for having multiple helmets now right?). The silver just doesn't fit with the Mizzou look. Pairing it with the white jerseys makes for a pretty odd combination as you have white/black/gold throughout the uniform, but black/silver on the helmets. Here's the gameday uniform put together for Saturday.

As long as they win, I'm fine with the look. As long as this helmet is only worn once. I'm still holding out hope for a white helmet later in the season.

New Helmet Unveiling

This video was just posted to Youtube today by the Mizzou Network, and it shows brief clips and teasers of a new helmet Mizzou is set to unveil tomorrow night at 6PM CST. Watch the video below:

It's pretty hard to determine what exactly it'll look like with how short the clips are. My best guess is that it's similar to their matte black alternate helmet, but with a silver facemask, and grey/silver tiger head logo. Be sure to tune in tomorrow evening for the unveiling.

Week 3 - Bye Week

As most of you probably know, Mizzou did not play this past weekend due to a bye week. Covering will resume with this weekend's game at Indiana. I fully expect Mizzou to go pretty vanilla here as it's their first home game. I believe they'll be going with the standard black helmet, white away jersey, and white pants. Stay tuned for more info as it gets closer to gameday.

Week 2 (Toledo 23 - Mizzou 38)

Week 2 brought the debut of Mizzou's alternate home jerseys that were unveiled earlier in the week. After seeing them in action, I really enjoy these. The gold pants are my favorite with any combination they use so this wasn't a bad looking game. Pictures below.

Anthracite Is In

Yesterday, Gary Pinkel posted Mizzou's uniform combination for Saturday's game against Toledo. It was a little surprising as I didn't expect them to unveil anything new until later in the season, if at all. Check out the picture below.

As you can see, they'll be wearing an alternate home jersey which is the same template as the away whites. Anthracite is on full display, with black shoulders and numbers. I'll have to wait to see it on the field before I can decide whether I like it or not, but first impression is that it's not a bad look. What do you think?

Week 1 (Murray State 14 - Mizzou 58)

As expected, Mizzou came out with their all black look that they have continued to wear for the majority of home games over the years. I prefer the gold pants paired with the black jerseys, but this is still a solid, classic look for the Tigers.
