Week 4 (Mizzou 10 - South Carolina 31)

Mizzou went on the road for the first time this season, so we got our first in-game look at the new away jerseys. They wore their secondary, matte black helmet, white jerseys, and anthracite pants. I personally love the look. Very surprised they wore the secondary helmets, but it just looks so good with the grey/anthracite in the uniform. Photos are below.

Pre-Game

Mizzou hits the road for the first time this season when they travel to the other Columbia to play the South Carolina Gamecocks at 2:30 PM Saturday. This gives us our first opportunity to see the away white uniforms. In the promo shots when the uniforms were unveiled, they paired the jersey with white pants...

and black pants...

In the past, they would sometimes pair the white jersey with gold pants, which was my personal favorite away combination. I'm not sure how that would look with the new set, and I don't anticipate them using the gold pants this year except for home games.

I'm not a fan of the all white look, so I'm hoping they wear the latter.

Prediction for the game: Mizzou - 17 S. Carolina - 28

Welcome to the SEC

Saturday night, Mizzou played Georgia in the inaugural SEC home opener. While they kept the game close for the first half, and were even up 17-9 in the third quarter, they couldn't hold on and Georgia cruised to a 41-20 victory. At least the Tigers looked good in the loss. They wore their new matte black helmets, gold jerseys, and black pants. This is definitely my favorite look for the team and would love it as the primary home set. Photos are below:

Tuesday Morning Follow-Up

As most of us expected, Mizzou absolutely crushed SE Louisiana 62-10. Also, as I expected, they went with the black/black/black combo that they usually wear for their home games.

After seeing the new uniforms in action, I really like them. I would have liked to have seen the gold pants, but there's plenty more games left for that.

This Saturday, Georgia comes to town for the first SEC home game in Mizzou history. It's being billed as the "Gold Rush" game, so I hope they break out the matte black helmets and gold jerseys for this one. What do you think?
